Veranda Grand Baie Hotel and Spa, 4 Star

I was looking for a hotel in Grand Baie and it was a toss up between Mauricia Beachcomber and Veranda, and opted for the latter due to the price. Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations but I'm so glad I made the right choice! I didn't think I'd fall in love Veranda the way I did. The resort isn't as big as its international corporate counterparts, but that's what makes it special. The staff take extra care of you and go that extra mile to make sure you have everything you need. I just felt at home from start to finish which is rare for a hotel where staff can treat you like a faceless nobody. (They knew who we were without us having to even introduce ourselves!) Shout-out to Rishi, Zack, Sudesh for looking after us so well. The resort itself is quaint given it doesn't have the vast real estate to work with, but maximises everything it has at its disposal. There is a small pool, games room with ping pong, archery, pool and darts. There is a gym with free weights, exercise bikes and treadmill, if you are disciplined enough to work out on holiday! The location is perfect,right in the heart of the lively Grand Baie. The N'Joy beach bar is right across the street, which was a bonus for me! The best part is breakfast which is so delicious, offering a wide array of hot and cold options. The homemade exotic jams were the best part, try the banana and papaya one - your life will never be the same! The real strength lies in the fact that the design of Veranda brand leans heavily into its Mauritian heritage - the layout, furniture and decor is based on what you would find in Mauritian homes. This makes a welcome change to the generic nature of many hotels and makes Veranda stand out, offering a taste of Mauritius in a cutthroat hospitality sector that supports the country's economy. All in all, I'd highly recommend anyone stay here and hope to come back again.

Warm welcome, fantastic & friendly service. Beautiful pool, great rooms & facilities. Perfect location - easy to walk into the town or to nearby beach. Food is delicious - always fresh with lots of choice. Nothing is too much trouble for the super staff. We would definitely return.

This is a pretty other worldly boutique hotel. The feel of the colonial architecture adds to the tropical vibe. We love this pretty sprawling hotel with all its nooks and crannies and relaxed vibe. We are 4 days into our family vacation and wanted to give a special thank you to some of the hotel staff for their 5 star service, including Rishi the restaurant manager and Sudhir the chef for their amazing welcome and attention to our meals, making sure we got what we needed and for tweaking our meals. The breakfast and quality of food is great. Also must mention Suresh for his smiling welcome every time we pass him in the reception and for looking after and taking our bags to our room, and Ajay (coconut) who makes us lovely drinks on the beech. The staff down at the Boathouse are also amazing and made sure our kids felt safe and happy trying out the free water sports. The room cleaners are also very polite and respectful of our belongings. This could and should be a 5 star hotel and it isn't fair to the staff mentioned to rate as 4 stars because their service has been excellent but I would have given 4 stars otherwise because of a few maintenance issues in our bathroom room which the hotel management still hasn't dealt with, and our bathroom is a little tired looking.

Fantastic beautiful room 214. Spacious and great vibe in the room. The service was fantastic and amazing breakfasts. A really big thank you to Ajay Coconut, who went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Easily the best staff member at this place and always out and about checking on guests. The service in our rooms has been fantastic too, making our room feel fresh each day. If we visit Mauritius again we will definitely be staying at Veranda Grand Baie Mauritius Thank you!!

Lovely hotel with a great lush green garden full with palm trees that throws you back into Mauritius' past colonial times.The hotel is small but indeed chic,cozy and comfy setup with a zen ambience from morning till night.Brillant budget hotel that I recommend highly if you want to have fun moments with your family or simply take a relaxing break.A special mention goes to Miss Venilla that copes with utmost professionalism the heavy work load with a smile always.

I hade really relaxing holiday. Nice place. Very friendly staf, Ajay Coconut,Ansaya,Odesh always helpful and funny. Hotel have a good location close to the bars,restaraunts,night clubs and shops.Direkt on the beach.Beautiful garden,a lot of flowers and plants.I like it.

I went to Veranda Grand Bay with my mom and her colleagues for day use. i had a wonderful day there with the best cocktails, snacks, lunch & tea time. I even went on a sea view on glass bottom. It was so mesmerizing i must say this hotel got the best view of the sea. I really enjoyed. It got the best service, well organized & well mannered staff. Special thanks to Mr. Youvraj, Mr. Elvin, Mr. Clarel for taking care to all of us. keep going guys. Just the best.

We recently stayed at Hotel Veranda and were thoroughly impressed. The ambiance was charming, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating especially Ajay “Coconut” but also Kunal, Cindy, Doushan and Balram. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, with a comfortable beds. The hotel's location was perfect. “Group of seven” from Netherlands.
